Melania Trump might do her best to hide from the cameras these days, but that’s where she thrived during her youth. Her career as a model started long before she became First Lady, going back to her teen years in Soviet Slovenia. As you can imagine, some of the photos from her past are hardly flattering, and it’s likely that Melania would be perfectly happy if they were never seen again. Here’s a look of some photos the First Lady doesn’t want you to see.
1. Jazz Hands
It would appear that Melania did some catalog modeling back in the day, and she sure knew how to show off those jazz hands! While it’s hard to imagine that the adorable face in this picture grows up to be the First Lady of the United States, that’s likely because Ms. Trump has long since purchased a new face. Here’s to hoping that hair look never comes back in style.
2. Strike A Pose
Again with that hair! It’s hard to say exactly what Melania is modeling in this picture, but it looks like some kind of dance or gymnastics gear. She looks like she’s deep in thought, probably plotting to marry rich and become the leader of the most powerful country in the world. If she only knew what life would be like when all her dreams came true…
3. And Another One
Same photoshoot, different pose. It’s still not clear exactly what she’s modeling, but there’s no doubt that she’s hiding a pair of jazz hands behind her head.
4. The Original Resting Bitch Face
Before RBF was a natural yet accidental look, models would aim to achieve it in their pictures. Melania, unfortunately, created more of a stink face than anything else. At least her hair is relatively normal in this one. Why the hell are her pants unbuttoned though? Did she just leave the bathroom?
5. The Classic Headshot
If you ever wondered what Melania would look like if she hadn’t had so much work done to her face,well this is probably the closest picture you’ll find. Even though she only looks like she’s in her early twenties here, it’s one of the last public photos where she has her natural face. She kind of resembles Kate Winslet a bit, am I right?
6. Melania’s New Face
While she fails to resemble the Melania we have all become familiar with in this picture, she’s still slightly more recognizable. She’s also starting out on a path toward a more sexualized modeling career, as she never seems to wear clothes again in any of her photoshoots until Trump’s running for office. Compared to the other women Trump has bedded however, Melania has apparently kept it kind of PG. Well, PG-13.
7. In The Buff
Not long after Trump announced he’d be running for president, photos of a young Melania posing nude surfaced pretty much everywhere. The New York Post put her on the front page titled “The Ogle Office” which, I must admit, had me giggling. The pictures were originally published in a men’s magazine overseas, likely something similar to Maxim except a bit on the racier side. In the First Lady’s defense, breasts aren’t as oversexualized in other countries like they are here. So, umm, cultural differences?
8. When In France
Published in a men’s magazine over in France, Melania is depicted canoodling with another woman. Both seem to be completely naked, but by the time these pictures resurfaced that factor was old news. Of course, the conservatives spun this when it leaked saying that it might help Trump win votes from the LGBT community. More like the pervy old man community, but that’s just my opinion.
9. Just A Little S&M
Was this French magazine trying to tell some kind of story? First Melania gets beaten and then lured into bed. It’s just your classic lesbian porn. At least we can say we have a modern First Lady! One who thinks S&M is okay but immigrant children are not.
10. Naked Again
Back when Melania was Trump’s girlfriend, she did a photoshoot for GQ where she was literally naked on a plane. Perhaps they were trying to encourage people to join the mile high club. The magazine even advertised it as their “Naked Supermodel Special,” which probably helped them sell quite a few copies. This picture is quite modest compared to the original photos, but it was just more than I could handle.
11. Melania Promoting The Second Amendment
This has got to be the moment Trump fell in love with Melania. It will go down in history books when future generations are studying the downfall of America. This will also be a photo they reference when discussing the “duck face” as it could otherwise be confusing as to why so many people were making strange faces into a camera for nearly a decade. Overall, this image is so James Bond.
12. Calling All Aliens
It would seem that Melania has a way of connecting with alien life by wearing that Star Trek inspired headgear. I’m going to assume her dress made out of a broken chandelier only helps with reception. Fortunately for us, this look never became a trend. Otherwise, it wouldn’t just be the hippie look of the ’70s that kids rag on the most.
13. Alien Eyes
It looks like the resting bitch face look was still in progress when this photo was taken. Either that or alien eye were a thing for a short period of time. Likely she had too much botox that morning, and it gave her a permanent look of surprise for a few months. At least the Big Bird jacket she’s wearing mostly distracts from her face.
13. Future Photo Of Regret
When Melania wore a jacket that read “I really don’t care” on the back of it on her way to see a group of immigrant children her husband is keeping locked in cages, she didn’t have any regrets. But she will soon enough. She might not see how this was done in bad taste just yet, but she will one day. Unless she’s just a heartless bitch that we’ve all been feeling sorry for all this time and we’ve been fools to think she has actual human emotions.

ALEXANDRIA—One of the last cases brought by former special counsel Robert Mueller seemed to be on the brink of getting thrown out by a federal judge on July 18. Ultimately, District Judge Anthony Trenga allowed the case to continue, albeit with reservations, saying the main charge, a conspiracy, rested on “very circumstantial” and “speculative” evidence.
The case alleges that Bijan Rafiekian, former partner in Gen. Michael Flynn’s lobbying firm, and Ekim Alptekin, a Turkish businessman, conspired to lobby in the United States on behalf of Turkey without disclosing it to the U.S. government. They were also accused of lying on foreign lobbying registration forms. Only Rafiekian is standing trial as Alptekin doesn’t live in the United States.
The defense argued that the case was too weak, only showing that Rafiekian acted in concert with Flynn and Alptekin, but not that the intent of the concerted effort was to secretly lobby for Turkey. The jury would have to speculate to reach a verdict, one of Rafiekian’s lawyers said, invoking Rule 29, which directs federal judges to toss a case where the evidence presented by the government “is insufficient to sustain a conviction.”
The prosecution disagreed, saying Rafiekian’s, Alptekin’s, and Flynn’s “matching lies are extremely persuasive circumstantial evidence of the conspiracy.”
The lobbying in question involved an op-ed published under Flynn’s name in The Hill on Nov. 8, 2016, about Fethullah Gulen, an Islamic cleric living in exile in Pennsylvania who runs a group that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan blamed for an attempted 2016 coup.
Flynn’s now-defunct lobbying firm, Flynn Intel Group (FIG), was paid over $500,000 by Alptekin to run a lobbying campaign against Gulen. When FIG’s lawyers were preparing the lobbying forms, Rafiekian, Alptekin, and Flynn all told them that the op-ed was unrelated to the lobbying job.
The prosecution disagreed, pointing out, among other things, that Rafiekian had sent a draft of the op-ed to Alptekin before publication with the message: “A promise made is a promise kept.”
Alptekin, former chair of the Turkey-U.S. Business Council, is known to have ties to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and consulted the lobbying job with Turking officials. The prosecutors, however, failed to establish that Turkey actually paid for the job.
The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) requires registration in cases where lobbying “principally benefits” a foreign government or political party even if the party or government didn’t pay for the job.
Trenga, in the end, reserved his judgment on Rule 29, which means that even if the jury returns a guilty verdict, the judge can still go back and toss the case.
Flynn’s Gambit
Flynn, former national security adviser to President Donald Trump, wasn’t charged in the case as part of his November 2017 plea deal, where he admitted to one count of lying to the FBI on unrelated matters and agreed to cooperate with the government. He’s expected to receive a low sentence, including no prison time, though he’s repeatedly asked for the sentencing to be delayed since he was still expected to testify on the Rafiekian case.
Flynn then unexpectedly stirred the pot in June when he fired his lawyers—the same lawyers who did the lobbying paperwork for his firm. His new team includes Sidney Powell, a former federal prosecutor and a critic of Mueller.
Later that month, the Mueller team asked Flynn to testify that he signed the lobbying forms knowing that there were intentionally-made false statements in them. He refused, saying he only acknowledged the falsities with hindsight, but wasn’t aware of them at the time.
“You are asking my client to lie,” Powell told Brandon Van Grack, one of Mueller’s main prosecutors, according to The Federalist’s Margot Cleveland.
In a “very heated” voice, Van Grack replied, “Be careful what you say … other people are listening in on this call.”
“Put the world on,” Powell replied. “Just put the world on.”
Shortly after, the Mueller team called off Flynn’s testimony and instead tried to label him a “co-conspirator” in the Rafiekian case. Trenga pushed back, though, saying the government has yet to prove there was a conspiracy, de-facto putting the co-conspirator matter on ice.
The prosecutors also had an FBI agent call and question Flynn’s son, who also worked for FIG. “The Agent persisted in trying to speak with him even after he said to call his attorney,” Flynn’s lawyers said in an earlier court filing.
It’s been speculated that the Mueller team offered an under-the-table deal to Flynn as early as 2017 so as to not involve his son in the case in return for Flynn’s cooperation.
On July 11, the government designated Flynn Jr. as a witness in the case, though he wasn’t ultimately called to the stand.
Powell called the Mueller team’s actions a “retaliation” for Flynn’s refusal to say what they wanted him to.

What is going on? Russian spies are assassinating people in other countries, directing internet companies to troll our social media and trying to undermine our political process almost in plain sight.
At the same time, agents acting at the behest of the Chinese Communist Party are stealing our proprietary information and technology. North Korean spies have become New Age bank robbers, while Iranian spies have attempted to assassinate dissidents in Denmark and a Saudi diplomat in the United States. And the United Arab Emirates has hired former government hackers to spy on dissidents and civil rights activists.
The spy business is clearly booming.
But it is not just government spy agencies. We are also witnessing the democratization of spy tools and techniques that used to be the sole purview of a highly select group of intelligence services. Less sophisticated services in other countries are now getting into the act.
As The Times reported in April, surveillance technology built for China’s political system is now being used — and in some cases abused — by as many as 18 other countries, including Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Kenya, the United Arab Emirates and Germany. That is just one example of the globalization of the espionage economy.
It is not just nations. Numerous nongovernmental groups and private individuals are also purchasing spy tools and techniques for illicit purposes. Cybercriminals are a case in point. True hacking expertise was once primarily the domain of computer gurus and sophisticated intelligence services, but today such know-how is easily obtained on the black market.
Similarly, even less sophisticated drug cartels, terrorists and other criminal networks can deploy high-quality cameras and voice-recording devices for nefarious purposes. Other intelligence tools are used to steal information and technology belonging to our companies and research institutions.
The easy availability of spying hardware and know-how, combined with the weakening of norms and laws in international relations, has made the world less predictable and more dangerous. Yet what has happened in recent decades is nothing compared to what is coming.

 , quantum computing and 5G cellular networks will change our society in ways that we cannot begin to imagine, for better and for worse. Ever more powerful, easily accessible technology will supercharge competition between states — and empower intelligence services, criminals and terrorists.
There is a way for the United States to navigate these treacherous waters: better counterintelligence. Simply put, counterintelligence is about protecting something valuable — an asset, a system, a process, a way of life — from an adversary.
Effective counterintelligence begins with the American people and its public officials understanding that our country has a bull’s-eye on its back. Our position as the pre-eminent military and economic power in the world is under challenge as never before, as extremely capable and dedicated rivals seek to gain advantage over us. China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and other countries pose grave threats, and advanced technology is leveling the playing field.

This means that agencies across our government must become familiar with the objectives, capabilities and methodologies of our adversaries. In addition, clear national security policies should be rigorously carried out across the entire federal government to ensure that all agencies, especially those outside the intelligence community, understand the best ways to protect government employees and data. Successful counterintelligence also requires our corporations and universities to better protect their vital assets, such as cutting-edge scientific research, so that they do not fall into the wrong hands.
Individual citizens have a part to play in this fight as well. Our nation’s deep political divisions are a major vulnerability; foreign adversaries are trying to exploit them, as the 2016 election showed. To protect our democracy — and our place in the world — we need to restore a sense of national unity and purpose, treating more of our fellow citizens the way we treat our loved ones.
As we head into the 2020 presidential campaign, where our adversaries may once again try to poison our political debate, we would do well to remember something John F. Kennedy once said: “There are few if any issues where all the truth, all the right, and all the angels are on one side.”

What is going on? Russian spies are assassinating people in other countries, directing internet companies to troll our social media and trying to undermine our political process almost in plain sight.
At the same time, agents acting at the behest of the Chinese Communist Party are stealing our proprietary information and technology. North Korean spies have become New Age bank robbers, while Iranian spies have attempted to assassinate dissidents in Denmark and a Saudi diplomat in the United States. And the United Arab Emirates has hired former government hackers to spy on dissidents and civil rights activists.
The spy business is clearly booming.
But it is not just government spy agencies. We are also witnessing the democratization of spy tools and techniques that used to be the sole purview of a highly select group of intelligence services. Less sophisticated services in other countries are now getting into the act.
As The Times reported in April, surveillance technology built for China’s political system is now being used — and in some cases abused — by as many as 18 other countries, including Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Kenya, the United Arab Emirates and Germany. That is just one example of the globalization of the espionage economy.
It is not just nations. Numerous nongovernmental groups and private individuals are also purchasing spy tools and techniques for illicit purposes. Cybercriminals are a case in point. True hacking expertise was once primarily the domain of computer gurus and sophisticated intelligence services, but today such know-how is easily obtained on the black market.
Similarly, even less sophisticated drug cartels, terrorists and other criminal networks can deploy high-quality cameras and voice-recording devices for nefarious purposes. Other intelligence tools are used to steal information and technology belonging to our companies and research institutions.
The easy availability of spying hardware and know-how, combined with the weakening of norms and laws in international relations, has made the world less predictable and more dangerous. Yet what has happened in recent decades is nothing compared to what is coming.

It is also a field of computer science dedicated to simulating intelligent behavior in computers. There is a way for the United States to navigate these treacherous waters: better counterintelligence. Simply put, counterintelligence is about protecting something valuable — an asset, a system, a process, a way of life — from an adversary.
Effective counterintelligence begins with the American people and its public officials understanding that our country has a bull’s-eye on its back. Our position as the pre-eminent military and economic power in the world is under challenge as never before, as extremely capable and dedicated rivals seek to gain advantage over us. China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and other countries pose grave threats, and advanced technology is leveling the playing field.

This means that agencies across our government must become familiar with the objectives, capabilities and methodologies of our adversaries. In addition, clear national security policies should be rigorously carried out across the entire federal government to ensure that all agencies, especially those outside the intelligence community, understand the best ways to protect government employees and data. Successful counterintelligence also requires our corporations and universities to better protect their vital assets, such as cutting-edge scientific research, so that they do not fall into the wrong hands.
Individual citizens have a part to play in this fight as well. Our nation’s deep political divisions are a major vulnerability; foreign adversaries are trying to exploit them, as the 2016 election showed. To protect our democracy — and our place in the world — we need to restore a sense of national unity and purpose, treating more of our fellow citizens the way we treat our loved ones.
As we head into the 2020 presidential campaign, where our adversaries may once again try to poison our political debate, we would do well to remember something John F. Kennedy once said: “There are few if any issues where all the truth, all the right, and all the angels are on one side.”
