M.N.: General Michael Flynn and the New Abwehr : My current understanding is that the New Abwehr (not to be confused or completely identified with the official German Intelligence Services ) did not like Mike Flynn, for a variety of reasons: he might have been too independent, even for them, and might not have fit their conservative ideas and the ideals of the military officer, or simply, they were not able to recruit him. But most of all, it is likely that this dislike was based on the more pragmatic grounds: broader strategic (Flynn's more objective stances on Russia and NATO), tactical (Flynn's interpretations of "Islamic terrorism" and ISIS as the products of the GRU, which I think, are correct), and operational (Flynn's ideas and policies as the DIA Director would get in a way of the New Abwehr's operational plans, specifically for the "Operation Trump), grounds.
