Donald Trump | The Guardian: Let Me Finish review: Everybody hates Chris Christie – and he hates Jared Kushner
The former New Jersey governor spares Donald Trump but lashes out at everyone else. The result is a political tour de farce
Chris Christie failed to a win a single delegate in his quest for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, and garnered less than 1% of the votes cast in the GOP primary. He then left the New Jersey governor’s mansion with a 14% approval rating. Let Me Finish, his bombshell of a book, could just as easily have been titled Everybody Hates Chris.
For the second anniversary of Trump’s inauguration, Christie drops a dollop of revenge, chilled to malevolent perfection
While Christie pours his bile on those who surround Trump, he seeks to leave the president unscathed and mostly succeeds

The Russian oligarch could face greater scrutiny after disclosure that Paul Manafort discussed Ukraine peace plan with associate
A recent disclosure that Trump’s campaign chairman and a key Russian business associate discussed a Ukraine peace plan in mid-2016 could signal more scrutiny of a powerful Russian oligarch by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election, former prosecutors and intelligence officials told the Guardian.
The timing of the talks between Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, a veteran political consultant, and Konstantin Kilimnik, his longtime aide who allegedly had ties to Russian intelligence in 2016, occurred in New York on 2 August.

The special counsel’s indictment of Roger J. Stone Jr. contains details as over the top as Mr. Stone himself, revealing, for instance, that he encouraged an associate to use a tactic straight from “The Godfather.” But the indictment — which shows the most direct link yet between the Trump campaign and WikiLeaks — is wholly serious.

Palmer Report: Donald Trump is riding his puppet status all the way to the bottom
Given the current political landscape, there is not much that could convince people that Donald Trump’s words are true. Let’s face it, nothing Trump has ever uttered has a high likelihood of being true. On June 14, 2016, Trump tweeted “Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and belief.” Trump then celebrated the Supreme Court decision last week that affirmed his administration’s decision on the transgender military ban. This is just another occurrence of proof of Trump violating his previous promises.
Throughout the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump continually promoted the benefits of America getting along with Russia. Despite all of the proof that Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, had assisted Trump to subvert American democracy, Trump continues to deny his treason while still promoting relationships with dictators.
As Palmer Report has documented, one of the main reasons that Putin wanted Trump to become president was to remove sanctions on Russian oligarchs. It turns out that the Trump administration has continued to do everything in its power to subvert American policy while advancing Russian rule.
“Trump’s administration has neglected for nearly three months to implement required sanctions targeting Russia that were intended to punish Moscow for the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal in the United Kingdom last year,” according to Newsweek. For the leader of a nation to publicly ignore the murder of someone for the sole purpose of protecting an individual for a quarter of a year, just to appease a foreign leader, speaks volumes. Perhaps this is why Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has acted so friendly to Trump.
